Theatre Writing Partnership is a writer-led organisation, which discovers, develops, produces and advocates for the work of theatre writers in and from the East Midlands.
We work closely with our partner theatres on the development of new plays, and also aim to commission at least one production of our own each year.
As well as producing new work, we also deliver unique writers’ projects, such as Momentum groups and the Playwrights’ Studio.
We have delivered the annual Momentum Festival at the Lakeside Arts Centre for the past three years. The event focuses mainly on the work of young regional writers aged 16 - 26 but in 2007 was opened up to include the UK premiere of three short plays by African writers as well as the first public presentation of Smile, the new play by Nottingham playwright, Stephen Lowe.
