Set in a grubby council flat in Hyson Green, the story centres around Hugh and Charlotte, an unlikely couple living in sin. The zany pair are completely unaware that their cosy lives are about to change when the mysterious Faith arrives.
Random Acts, by Nottingham playright Leah Chillery opened at the Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham, on Tuesday 23rd August 2005 as part of the 2005 edition of Momentum Festival.
Leah started her career in the arts at The Nottingham Playhouse, participating in community shows such as PRESHH and AVALANCHE. She went onto study Drama in Manchester where she also continued performing and writing. Her first play RAPUNZEL (The HipHopcisy) was produced by Green Light Theatre Co. Followed by MINORITY RAPPORT for the Contact Theatre, Manchester. Leah was awarded ACE funding to put on her next piece BLUE at the Nottingham Arts Theatre and most recently her one act play RANDOM ACTS was chosen to headline at the Momentum Young Writers Festival 2005. Leah has been commisioned by Nitro Theatre Company to write their 2007 production and she is currently a member of the East Midlands Regional Writers Group and also the Core Writers Group at Soho Theatre, London.
