Following on from the last East Midlands Playwriting Competition in 2003 we ran a year-long development programme for the winners: Diamara Neil, Linda Kempton, Julius Ayodeji and Julie Lumsden. The writers had the opportunity to meet and network with professional directors and actors, see a range of theatre performances, follow a dedicated programme of workshops as well as receiving dedicated dramaturgical support in the writing of a full-length play. We are hoping to produce Julius’s play next year (Natural Breaks and Rhythms), and Linda has recently been working as one of our Momentum mentors.
